This Loire Valley B&B is situated in Grignon, where the construction of the Canal d'Orleans began in 1676 to transport the coal and wood from Orleans to Paris. Grignon's harbor had a flourishing period with more than 3000 barges a year, many inns and shop. Then, with the railway rise, the number of boat decreased and the commercial navigation on Orleans'canal ended in 1954.
Historical monument of the seventeenth century, L'Echappee Belle B&B had a significant role in Grignon.
Among the first houses built, it was usefull during the construction of the canal.
Then it was used for weather control (with its weather vane) to allow the navigation in the harbor. Since its purchase in 2014, many renovations have been done to revive the house and highlight its charm.
